The Cleveland Cavaliers might’ve been in action on Monday night, but that doesn’t mean Donovan Mitchell wasn’t watching what was happening on Monday Night Football. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Seattle Seahawks went toe to toe in a classic NFC showdown and things went down to the wire. With the Birds up 17-13 late in the fourth quarter, Drew Lock led a wild drive down the field that ultimately ended in an epic TD pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who made an unreal over-the-shoulder grab:
That outstanding throw and catch had Spida in disbelief:
He wasn’t the only one to freak out over the game-winner from Lock to Smith-Njigba. The entire sports world couldn’t believe how the Seahawks beat the Eagles. It was perfect and happened to be at Lumen Field, helping Seattle keep their playoff hopes alive. Pete Carroll’s squad is now 7-7 while Philly lost their third game in a row, dropping to 10-4 and failing to lock down the NFC East title for the time being.
As for Mitchell and the Cavs, they also came out victorious before the MNF contest ended, beating the Houston Rockets 135-130 in overtime. Spida dropped 37 points in 45 minutes of action. He suffered a shoulder injury scare in the process but made it clear after the game that he’s all good, which is good news considering Evan Mobley and Darius Garland are already out until the new year.
The Cavs are now 15-12 and will face the Utah Jazz on Wednesday as they hope to stay afloat until two of their best players return.
