The Cavs had a tough preseason losing their first six games before finally defeating the Mavericks in their final game. They had the big decision of choose between roster hopefuls Quinn Cook, Jared Cunningham, Austin Daye, D.J. Stephens, Dionte Christmas, and Jack Cooley.

Prior to cutting Cook, the Cavs cut Austin Daye, D.J. Stephens, Dionte Christmas, and Jack Cooley.
Daye played in six preseason games for Cleveland, and averaged 5.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game. Stephens appeared in four games, and averaged 3.3 points in 7.4 minutes per game. Christmas appeared in four games, and averaged 6.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game. Cooley, who made some noise with a 15 rebound game in 19 minutes of action, appeared in two preseason games, and averaged 4.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game

Cook averaged 3.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in just 12.9 minutes per game.
Cunningham finished the preseason averaging 12.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 25 minutes per game while playing in all seven games.
