Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell has signed a new multiyear contract extension with Adidas, and the agreement will also provide additional resources to his former high school.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday that Mitchell’s new agreement will extend his long-running partnership with Adidas and take the Cavaliers guard through his 10th signature shoe with the company.

“Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell has signed a new multiyear contract extension with Adidas – a deal that will take him through a 10th signature shoe with the same brand, becoming the seventh active NBA player to accomplish the feat,” Charania reported. “It will also deliver Adidas’ further resources for his high school, Greenwich Country Day, to provide students from underserved communities with access to educational resources.”

The extension represents another milestone in Mitchell’s relationship with Adidas. Reaching 10 signature shoes would make him only the seventh active NBA player to reach that mark with the same brand, according to Charania.

However, the impact of the agreement will extend beyond Mitchell’s signature footwear line. Adidas will provide additional resources to Greenwich Country Day School, with the initiative designed to expand access to educational opportunities for students from underserved communities.

Donovan Mitchell extends Adidas partnership ahead of Cavaliers’ 2026-27 season

The agreement comes as Mitchell prepares for another season as the centerpiece of the Cavaliers.

Cleveland currently has training camp underway ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, with Mitchell once again expected to play a central role in the organization’s pursuit of a championship.

Mitchell’s latest Adidas extension also continues his growing presence away from the court. By incorporating his former school into the agreement, the Cavaliers star will use the next stage of his partnership with the apparel company to support educational opportunities while continuing his signature shoe line.

The Cavaliers will now turn their attention toward the preseason as Mitchell and the rest of Cleveland’s roster prepare for the start of the 2026-27 campaign.
