Kevin Love recently reflected on what he has learned so far playing with LeBron James. Love has a similar playstyle to Chris Bosh — a former teammate of James — as they both stretch the floor for the King, allowing him to operate on offense.

But for most critics, their similarities stop there. Bosh has received much more praise than Love. But there are a few whispers here and there that believe Love is Bosh’s equal, if not his better.

On being mentioned in the same sentence with Bosh, Love said in part:

“Being in the same breath as Chris Bosh is rarefied air. I know when we have success I might not get the credit and when we lose I might get the blame but that comes with the territory. Hopefully at the end of my career they’ll say ‘Wow Kevin did a lot for Cleveland and the city.'”

Below is the full video of Love, where he pointed out that in playing with James, sacrifices have to be made:

James, for his part, pointed out how important Love is to their success and failure. After shooting 3-for-10 in the first round, James noted that Love simply has to knock his shots down. But despite this, James said that they have to let Love know that he is critical to their success. Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN, James said:

“I mean, he’s a huge part of our success or our non-success,” James said of Love. “Obviously, we try to go to him, we want to go to him. Obviously, we can’t make the shots for him. He has to step up and knock those down.”
