The friendship between LeBron James and Dwyane Wade has been well-documented over the years. As Smuckers recently said, the two players are “like peanut butter and jelly.” As teammates with the Miami Heat, the dynamic duo won two NBA championships together. Now, as members of the Cleveland Cavaliers, they’ll both be chasing a fourth ring.

On Tuesday, prior to the Cavs’ final home preseason game, Wade spoke to reporters with regards to his new team’s current mindset, as well as what they need to do to improve.

“Every opportunity you have, especially this time of year, you want to take the opportunity to get better,” Wade said. “This will be our first time with our starting group together on the floor at the same time. (It will be) the first time with a lot of guys, like 10 new guys, playing with LeBron. It’s gonna be a first time for a lot of things, even though this is the fourth preseason game. We’ve only got one more to get ready before the opening of the season. We’re still trying to get our game legs. We’re still trying to get our in-game conditioning. We’re trying to execute, trying to learn our coverages. All of it is important.”

As most hoops fans know, the Cavs welcomed several new faces to their organization this offseason, including Wade himself, Isaiah Thomas, Jose Calderon, Derrick Rose, Jeff Green, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and Cedi Osman. Tonight’s preseason primer against the Bulls, which is slated to air on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. EST, should give head coach Tyronn Lue a decent look at the starting rotation he has set in place, at least for a few minutes. Let’s see how the first team fares.
