Dahntay Jones was fined and issued a suspension after the groin hit to Bismack Biyombo at the end of Game 3. The league announced the suspension Sunday morning, and LeBron James came out and said that he would pay Dahntay Jones’ fine, per Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com

LeBron James said he intends to cover the fine imposed on Cleveland Cavaliers reserve Dahntay Jones for the one-game suspension he received for punching Bismack Biyombo in the groin at the end of Game 3.

Little did LeBron know that Jones fine was a pretty insane amount. It was so crazy that even I threw my name out there to pay the man’s fine. Yeah, Jones was fined $80.17. That is not a typo, he was fined eighty dollars and seventeen cents.

As Dan Feldman of NBC Sports points out, his fine is for 1/110th of his salary. Dahntay Jones signed with the Cavs for the prorated minimum on the final day of the NBA’s regular season, making him eligible to play for the playoffs.

LeBron James WAS NOT AWARE of the amount at the time, simply saying that he was going to pay for it (no matter how much it was).
