Dahntay Jones came into the final few minutes of Game 3 and was matched up with Bismack Biyombo. In what should have been an easy end to a game came out to be pretty controversial.

Jones’ fist to the groin area of Biyombo warranted a suspension from the league on Sunday morning, and although there’s some debate as to whether it was intentional or not, it certainly looked painful.

Jones spoke about the incident, per Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.

Asked if he meant to punch Biyombo below the waist, Jones responded, “Not at all.” He said it was his responsibility to pick up Biyombo on the play.

“I was ready to catch him, the shot went up, I went to go box him out, keep him off the boards and that was it,” Jones said. “The league contacted me to get my side. Then they contacted me back and said it was a unanimous decision that there was considered to be intent.”

Although he doesn’t play much at all, Jones will miss Game 4 of the Cavs and Raptors game.

“I won’t let this be a distraction to my team or what we have to accomplish,” Jones said. “It’s very unfortunate, but it is what it is.”
