Daniel Gibson played just seven years in the NBA, but played them all with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Gibson was drafted with the 42nd pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, but really made a name for himself and became a fan favorite thanks to his epic 31-point effort, including 19 in the fourth quarter, against the Detroit Pistons in the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals to cement the Cavs first-ever trip to the NBA Finals in franchise history.

Gibson stayed and played through the good years as well as the bad before taking some time away from the game after the 2012-13 NBA season. Despite being away from the game, Gibson has remained true and loyal to the Cleveland Cavaliers, especially as a fan.

Gibson hasn’t officially retired, and it doesn’t sound like he’s making a return to the game anytime soon as he’s working on getting out there in the rap world. Still, he’s just 30 years old and could very well make a return to the game of basketball if he’s interested and finds the love for basketball greater than his love for making music.
