The Golden State Warriors came into the postseason on a 73-9 tear of the regular season and were fully expected to breeze through the Western Conference en route to another NBA Finals appearance.
However, a stunning turn of events in the West has the Warriors down 3-1 to the Thunder and just one game away from elimination. That, along with the fact that the Cavs were heavily favored to come out of the East, has caused the Las Vegas oddsmakers to change up the numbers as there’s a new favorite to win the NBA Championship.

The Warriors start out at 5-7 favorites to win it all with the Cavs trailing right behind them at 3-1. At the start of the season, the Cavs started out as 2-1 favorites to win the 2016 NBA Championship with the Warriors right behind them at 4-1. Fast forward to a pair of Game 5’s that will likely decide the teams who make it to the NBA Finals, and now the Cavs are the favorites.
They still have a lot of work to do, starting with the pivotal Game 5 back at the Q with a 3-2 series lead on the line.
