The casual basketball fan might look at the Cleveland Cavaliers recent win/loss record and think that the team is struggling. Head coach Tyronn Lue and the Cleveland die-hards know that the recent stretch means nothing to the long term goals.

The Cavaliers are 3-5 for the month of March but are doing so without Kevin Love and Kyle Korver whatsoever, while integrating J.R. Smith back into the rotation.

Amongst all this, Cleveland still sits pretty atop the Eastern Conference with what seems like a continual two or three game lead on their closest rival.

Coach Tyronn Lue addressed the media recently and warned the league that when the squad is a healthy one, they’ll “take off”.

Amongst all the losing and pressure to win outside of the locker room, the man leading the charge seems as casual and confident as ever. The Cavaliers don’t need the one seed going into the post-season, and Lue knows it.

“We had some tough games this month with Boston and Houston, but for me, defensively in both of games I like the way we played and that’s one thing we’ve been talking about. Sometimes your record is worse than what your team is.”

“I’m not worried at all. To be able to hold down the floor the way we’ve done it so far, and to still be the number one seed with and two or three game lead, I feel great and confident where we’re at.”

“Now are guys are starting to get healthy and come back and we’re gonna take off.”

Adding an All-Star back into your lineup (Love) and arguably the league’s best deep ball shooter coming off picks (Korver), is enough reason to be calm, cool and collected.
