Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry recently made a lot of noise when a video of him surfaced where he appeared to be mocking LeBron James’ workout video, during the wedding of his former teammate, Harrison Barnes. Many of The King’s fans were upset as they thought of it as being disrespectful to James.

The former back-to-back MVP has finally broken his silence on the controversial clip, via Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic, where he made it clear that he wasn’t mocking him. Curry discussed that he watched James’ workout video at least twice a day and has become his favorite, which explains why he tried to copy it.

“I’ve been watching that video twice a day since it happened because its my favorite video in the entire world. He made a song popular by making a video. And that lives. So now every time I hear that song, that’s all I think about. And I’ve been doing that dance because of him, at my house, at dinner. When something good happens, I pull that out, because I like it and it makes me laugh and it makes me happy. Not making fun of him.”

While he has already made a clear explanation, it remains to be seen how James’ fans will take it and whether they’ll accept it or not. But to be fair with Curry, he doesn’t have any reported beef with the Cleveland Cavaliers star forward. Although their teams have been rivals on the court, the two have maintained a certain level of respect among each other.

What added more fuel to the fire was the fact that the people around him that time, including Kyrie Irving, all appeared to have a few laughs at the expense of James. However his actions may have already left a bad taste in the mouth for others, and it may take a while before this gets erased in their memories.
