Cavs’ Jaylon Tyson poses as reporter to ask James Harden a question

James Harden is entering his first full season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and it appears that he has formed a tighter bond with his teammates.

On Media Day on Monday, Harden kidded around during his photoshoot with Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Peyton Watson, which should be an encouraging sight, as the veteran star can be moody and introverted.

The switch was flipped during his press conference. Jaylon Tyson messed around and posed as a reporter to ask Harden a hard-hitting question, as shown in the video shared by News 5 Cleveland’s Camryn Justice.

“Who would you say is your favorite player on the team?” said Tyson.

The 37-year-old guard had an easy answer.

“Jaylon Tyson,” replied Harden.

Tyson thanked him and quickly exited, eliciting laughter from the media contingent.

The Cavaliers will turn serious once action resumes. Harden, who will play in his 18th year, will look to prove that he is worth every cent after signing a three-year, $97 million contract. He will also try to redeem himself after tossing a dud in the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks.

In 26 games with the Wine and Gold, the 11-time All-Star averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists.

The 23-year-old Tyson, meanwhile, will look to build on his solid campaign in his sophomore year. He tallied 13.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 26.9 minutes in 66 games, including 47 starts.

With the arrival of Watson, Tyson will likely come off the bench in the upcoming season. He will join Sam Merrill, Craig Porter Jr., Thomas Bryant, Mario Hezonja, and Nae’Qwan Tomlin in the second unit.
