Shortly after 10:00 a.m. EST Monday morning, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio and Amico Hoops reported that the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers have elected to recall rookie point guard Kay Felder from the Canton Charge, Cleveland’s D-League affiliate team. Cavs GM David Griffin announced the news from Cleveland Clinic Courts.
Per NBA.com, Felder has appeared in seven games for the Charge this season, averaging 30.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 36.3 minutes per game. On assignment from the Cavaliers, the crafty 5’9″ ball-handler led the Charge to a 4-and-1 record last week. In Sunday’s win over the Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks affiliate), Felder recorded the first double-double (26 points and 10 assists) performance of his professional basketball career.
For his outstanding play with the Charge over the course of their recent home stand, the NBA D-League awarded Felder with the Performer of the Week award. Felder played in three games with the Charge last week (February 27th to March 5th), averaging 30.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.3 steals.

Felder gives Head Coach Tyronn Lue a third point guard to utilize in certain scenarios (if he so chooses). For the Cavs this season, Felder is averaging 4.0 points, 1.3 assists, and 1.0 rebound in 9.5 minutes per game.
