The Cleveland Cavaliers’ unreal start to the season continued on Monday night. The Cavs hosted the Utah Jazz and won easily in Cleveland, 124-113. Darius Garland led the way with 23 points as both Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley scored 22 points apiece. A total of four Cavs starters finished with 20 or more points in a complete team effort from the starting five.

Jarrett Allen was the only Cavs starter not to finish in double-figures, but he had seven points with six rebounds in just 26 minutes of playing time.

However, Allen went viral for a totally different reason.

The start of the game was delayed due to a broken rim, and both teams got a well-deserved break. In the process, Allen pulled off an unreal, must-see behind-the-back halfcourt shot.

Here is a picture of the rim that was broken, which forced the tip to be delayed in Cleveland.

It was a fun scene in Cleveland before the game against Utah, and it ended in celebration as the Cavs won the ninth game of the month of December and the fifth in a row.

Next up for the Cavs is a tough West Coast road trip. The Cavs face the Denver Nuggets on Friday, the Golden State Warriors on Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, and then the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, all on the road. After that, the Cavs return home for a four-game homestand, but it could be a tricky path going through some Western Conference teams during a road stretch.

With the calendar set to flip to 2025, the Cavs have the best record in the Eastern Conference and the best in the NBA at 26-4 as of Tuesday afternoon, so the energy and excitement is back in Cleveland.
