After dropping Game 3 of the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves facing an 0-3 series deficit in the series.
During his post-game media availability, Cavs center Tristan Thompson, who recorded zero points (0-for-1 from the field), three rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in his 23 minutes of Game 3 action, was asked how he and the Cavs will approach game 4.
“With this team, it’s like we play better with our backs against the wall,” Thompson said. “I mean, it’s no different down 3-0, 3-1. We (have to) get a game at home and keep fighting.”
Game 3 was tight all the way down to the wire, with Warriors forward Kevin Durant hitting a decisive three to give his team a one point advantage in the closing seconds. Thompson was asked if it’s frustrating to lose a game that was so close.
“It’s tough,” Thompson replied. “Especially when you know how hard guys are playing and competing at a high level, but we gotta keep pushing. We’ve been in the trenches before. We just gotta keep pushing.”
Game 4 is set to tip at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, with ABC having live broadcast coverage. As Thompson says, the Cavs just have to “keep pushing.”
