Some Cavs fans may have noticed Dahntay Jones nestled between Kevin Love and Richard Jefferson in LeBron James’ Instagram video of the team’s workouts as well as in a recent group photo posted by team members on Instagram.

The Cavs have been working out in Santa Barbara, California at LeBron James’ mini-camp before Cleveland’s actual camp begins next week on September 27th.
Jones received an invite to this camp from LeBron James himself. Now, Jones will have a shot at making Cleveland’s 2016-17 roster.
Jones was waived after the 2016 championship season, but Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com is reporting that Jones has received an invite to participate in Cleveland’s training camp on a non-guaranteed contract.
Jones played sparingly after being signed on the final day of the regular season, but had his most memorable moments during Game 6 of the NBA Finals. With multiple forwards in foul trouble in the closing minutes of the first half, Jones came in and scored five straight points while drawing two key fouls on Draymond Green.
The Cavs just had Mo Williams confirm that he will play this upcoming year, and if the Cavs do re-sign J.R. Smith, that would put the roster at a solid 14 players. Considering how close the current squad is with Jones, it’s more than likely he make the final roster.
