After sweeping the Detroit Pistons out of the playoffs with some hot shooting, the Cavs are now just one game away from doing the same to the Atlanta Hawks.

After the Cavs big time shooting performance in Game 3 following Game 2’s historic shooting, Pistons forward Marcus Morris reacted to the game Channing Frye was having on Twitter.

Frye is averaging 8.3 points and 2.8 rebounds, but he was never going to put up a high amount of points and rebounds. What he was brought to Cleveland to do was shoot. Shoot, shoot, and then shoot some more. General manager David Griffin worked with him when they were both members of the Phoenix Suns organization.

Frye was never expected to have a major impact on a consistent basis due to the variety of big men available to the Cavs, but he was expected to have a couple of big games if called upon. That’s what they brought him here for. When Kevin Love exited the game with four fouls, the Cavs didn’t seem to have a major dropoff, instead staying in the game until Kyrie Irving and Frye led the comeback charge to start the fourth quarter. We all know what happened from then on as the Cavs had a big 24-5 run to close the Hawks out.

Game 4 between the Cavs and Hawks is Sunday.
