With the season now over for the Cleveland Cavaliers after their first round playoff loss to the New York Knicks, their attention now turns to the 2023 NBA Draft. The draft is little over a month away and a few important events are coming up such as the draft combine. The Cavs currently do not hold a first round draft pick. They would have had the No. 26 pick in the draft but due to the Caris LeVert trade with the Indiana Pacers, the Pacers own that pick. They do have a second round pick, however, at No. 49. They could always try and trade into the first round. It appears as though the Cavs are looking at Isaiah Miranda in the NBA Draft as per Brendan McGair of The Pawtucket Times.
Isaiah Miranda declared for the NBA Draft recently while also entering the transfer portal. Miranda was considered a top recruit in the high school class of 2022 and he had originally committed to North Carolina State. Miranda had previously looked at his draft options before committing to NC State. He joined the Wolfpack late in the season but ended up redshirting what would have been his freshman season.
NC State had landed a few other big men in the transfer portal this offseason such as Mohamed Diarra from Missouri and Ben Middlebrooks from Clemson. Their arrival led to Miranda’s departure. Miranda has not hired an agent thus he is still eligible to withdraw from the draft and play college basketball.
Miranda last suited up on the court for Springfield Commonwealth High School.
