Former Cleveland Cavaliers swingman Mike Miller played alongside Kyrie Irving back in 2014-15. The two of them have apparently stayed in touch, even though Miller was only around for that one season with the Cavs.
Miller, who last played for the Denver Nuggets before being waived by the team on July 11, went on AltitudeSports950’s podcast wherein he had a fascinating take on the possibility of Kyrie moving to Mile High:
“Like anything else, when people look at cities, Denver’s an unbelievable city we all know that. And with what the organization has built there, [Irving] would be crazy not to and he’s definitely, definitely interested in it and I told him by putting this thing out there he has no choice.”
Denver was not one of the four teams that Irving wanted to play for in his request for a trade. However, the Nuggets do have a pretty attractive roster that Uncle Drew can lead towards great success.
On the other hand, the Cavaliers may not be as inclined to deal with the Nuggets right now given how the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat – the four teams on Irving’s short list – have each shown interest in the 25-year-old point guard just as well and have better assets to dangle in front of the Cavs.
As it stands, Denver’s chances of landing Irving are rocky at best.
