After demanding a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers, and all the news about him not being happy to play for the Wine and Gold anymore, it’s very understandable that Kyrie Irving is not the most popular player in Ohio right now. Fans have been very vocal on social media about their displeasure with his actions recently, especially after seeing him egging on Stephen Curry while he was mocking LeBron James‘ workout video.

Fox 8 News Cleveland is also not a fan of Uncle Drew these days and took a shot at him in their latest TV ad. They made it known that the city is The King’s and that they’re fine with him leaving the Cavs.

“You’re either with us or against us. You have to be tough to thrive here… And if you don’t want to be part of our story, that’s fine. This city belongs to The King … Oh yeah, enjoy the ring.”

As days go by, more and more speculations have been emerging about Irving’s next destination. There have been a number of teams linked to make a move for him, but so far, nothing has materialized yet. However, it can be expected that the team will address his situation soon, and look for the best possible offer they can get in exchange for his services, if they are already sold to the idea of him leaving.

Irving has played for the Cavaliers since entering the league in 2011. He was an integral part of their championship run last year, and has established himself as one of the elite point guards in the NBA today. He will definitely leave the team with a huge hole in their rotation and title aspirations next season, but if Koby Altman and company can maximize the return they could get for him, not only will it soften the blow of him taking his talents to another team, but can still make the Cavs dangerous and a serious title favorite.
