LeBron James has been awarded the honor of Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, and for a record 55th time in his illustrious career. James was rewarded for his outstanding play for the week of October 31st to November 6th, leading the Cavaliers to a 3-0 record averaging a near triple double of 24.7 points, 11.3 assists, and 9.3 rebounds in 36 minutes per game.
James continued his incredible start to this season, registering at least a double-double in each of these contests. He continues to add to his milestones and the 55 times are the most by any player in NBA history. It is the 55th time a player has been named Player of the Week in Cavaliers’ franchise history, and the 36th time James has done it as a member of the Cavs. He also holds the most player of the month awards as well.
The Cavaliers record outlines the remarkable start LeBron and company have had, and the numbers for James are just as impressive as their 6-0 start. During this week, within the Eastern Conference, he ranked first in assists at 11.3 per game, first in plus/minus at +44, second in double-doubles with three, fifth in points per game with 27.4, and eleventh in rebounds per game with 9.3. He also continued his consecutive streak of scoring in double digits 723 games and counting, which is the third longest streak in NBA history.
James’ week consisted of 19 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in the Cavaliers victory against the Rockets, a 30 point, 12 assists and seven rebound performance overcoming Boston at home, and finally, LeBron closed out the week with 25 points, 14 assists, eight rebounds and two steals in the nail biting win against the 76ers. He also passed Hakeem Olajuwon for 10th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list during the win against Philadelphia.
LeBron and the Cavaliers have put the league on notice, and NBA legend Magic Johnson has definitely been impressed with the king.

Without even really trying, LeBron James has started his quest for his fifth MVP in emphatic fashion, and if he continues, the Cavaliers could own the best record in the NBA, meaning James could be hoisting up the MVP trophy for the fifth time in his career.
