The Houston Rockets on Wednesday morning pulled off a huge trade by acquiring All-Star point guard Chris Paul from the Los Angeles Clippers in a multi-player deal.
It has caught the entire league by surprise leading to many different reactions from various NBA players via social media. In light of that, Cleveland Cavaliers star forward LeBron James has immediately extended his congrats to the Rockets for acquiring Paul.
It is no secret that James and Paul have developed quite a close relationship over the years in the NBA. This looks to be nothing more than some genuine excitement from the four-time league MVP toward the Rockets’ new point guard.
The addition of Paul significantly improves Houston’s chances of dethroning the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference next season. This may also mark the beginning of several more dominoes falling for the Rockets with their focus directed at adding another superstar talent such as Paul George via a trade or possibly Carmelo Anthony if he’s bought out of his deal with the New York Knicks this summer.
This could also open the door to there being several major moves across the league in order to better combat the improvements made by teams like the Rockets. All in all, this was just an honest moment for James to praise his close friend as he’s set to begin the next chapter of his career.
