LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been incredible to start this postseason. The Cavs are currently undefeated, and are off to a perfect 6-0 start during the most important time of the year. They’ve already swept the Indiana Pacers, and now their second-round opponent Toronto Raptors look to be on the ropes as well.
James has driven the world champs into reaching a level they hadn’t achieved during the regular season, and the best player in the world is playing at an utterly unbelievable level right now. He has been unstoppable, and despite his well-deserved reputation of being a triple-double threat every night, James has been scoring the ball at an incredibly rapid pace. He’s still averaging a healthy 7.3 assists per game, but the King from Akron has gone about getting buckets in order to lift the Wine and Gold during this playoffs so far.
The four-time MVP is averaging a whopping 34.2 points per game, and as he and the Cavs have started 6-0, James has moved into the top two all-time in the most points averaged for a 6-0 start in NBA playoff history.
As you can see, he moved past Michael Jordan and trails Kobe Bryant by just .1 point per game. The King is averaging basically the most points for a perfect 6-0 start in NBA playoff history. Jordan and Bryant were some of the purest scorers ever, and with James focusing on other areas as well as scoring, his feats of putting the ball in the basket are even more impressive.
James also passed legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for second place all-time in playoff scoring during Game 2, and his sights are setting on catching Jordan for the label as the greatest playoff scorer in NBA history during this postseason run.
If he keeps up this current scoring pace, James will likely pass Jordan in the Conference Finals.
