LeBron James has always been a relatively healthy basketball player. In his first 12 years (from 2003-2015), James missed just 57 games. Before the 2011-12 season, where James sat out 20 games mostly to rest (and won an NBA Championship), James really hadn’t had any issues with injures. As we all know, however, Father Time is undefeated, and every player has to endure the fact that they may no longer be able to do what they do.
LeBron missed Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks and Thursday’s game against the Indiana Pacers due to an illness and rest, the Cavs were reporting. Head Coach David Blatt talked about the odds of playing James in the final two preseason games.

“We’ll see what happens at the beginning of next week,” Blatt said. “I certainly don’t expect him to play both games and I don’t know if he’ll even play one. We’ll see.”
On Friday morning, news came out that James had received a back injection to deal with pain. The last time James received this injection was during his two-week rest period in January of 2015.
Sources: LeBron James received injection in back this week, unlikely to play again in preseason:
