Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner, recently named New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony an injury replacement on this year’s Eastern Conference All-Star team for Kevin Love, who has been ruled out for approximately six weeks with a knee injury, and LeBron James is happy he’s no longer the oldest member of the squad.
If Love hadn’t went down with an injury, James would have been the oldest member of an All-Star team for the first time in his career.
Makes me happy,” James said as he joked with reporters on Wednesday. “Makes me very happy. Now Melo is. Now Melo is. Yep, I’m happy about that.”

The two long-time friends are both 33 years of age. However, Anthony (May 29th) is more than seven months older than The King (December 30th). James has always thought of Anthony as an All-Star. Now, “Melo,” as Anthony is affectionately known, and James, will represent the East together once more.
The 66th NBA All-Star game will be played on Sunday, February 19th, inside The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Tip-off is slated for 8:30 p.m. EST on TNT.
