The Cleveland Cavaliers are on the verge of sweeping the Toronto Raptors as they’ve dominated their familiar foes behind the extraordinary play of superstar LeBron James. The four-time MVP has been in incredible form, demolishing the Raptors and controlling the series to an extent we’ve maybe never seen before.
The King is currently averaging 34.2 points per game, 7.3 assists and nine rebounds on 56% from the field and 48% from downtown as he’s upped his already impressive regular season production. Raptors star DeMar DeRozan has already offered anyone $100 to stop James, and Raptors point guard leader Kyle Lowry has recently said “They’ve got LeBron James and nobody’s closing the gap on him”. It looks as though even the best players in the league recognize James as an unstoppable force come playoff time, and with his unbelievable play, the kid from Akron has created more NBA history for himself after continuing to see records fall in these early stages of the postseason.
No one has ever scored over 240 points, pulled down over 50 rebounds and dished over 50 assists in their first seven games of the playoffs, and despite this record being slightly more obscure than climbing the all-time playoff ladders, it highlights how dominant the three-time champion has been so far.
With the Cavs just one win away from sweeping the series, James could be adding to his record for most playoff sweeps by a single player in NBA playoff history. The Cavs could also see themselves earn another week of rest as the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics continue to battle it out on the other side of the Eastern Conference bracket.
