Wednesday’s matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics was a highly anticipated one as it could determine who will end up with the top seed in the Eastern Conference. As expected, LeBron James was at his best and is willing his team to a victory.
With 6:55 left in the second quarter, The King made a monster two-handed block against Marcus Smart. His momentum carried him over to the crowd seated behind the basket, where some of the fans happily gave him high-fives to celebrate his incredible defensive play.
James dominated the quarter as he scored 14 of his 19 first half points and gave his team a 15-point lead at that point. Playing without Tristan Thompson for the first time this season, the four-time MVP understands he needs to be at his best, especially on the defensive end, to help his team’s cause and send a strong message to the Celtics heading into the playoffs.
The Cavs went on to dominate the Celtics to the tune of 114-91, fortifying their hold of the East’s top spot.
