The Cleveland Cavaliers will go as far as where LeBron James takes them this season, and if the four-time MVP’s current form is any indication, the defending Eastern Conference champions are likely to defend their conference crowns yet again – at least.
James has been rolling up his sleeve this season, especially of late, as he has racked up four triple-doubles in the Cavs’ last five games. James authored his latest triple-double with plenty of minutes left in the game against the Washington Wizards, and was immediately noted by ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly.
LeBron James would finish the game with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 15 assists in a 106-99 win over the Wizards – the Cavs’ fifth win in a row.
For those who are keeping count, James has six triple-doubles on the season, and it won’t be advisable to bet on the proposition that he won’t achieve that statistical feat again this campaign.
James is in his 15th year in the NBA, and about to turn 33 in less than two weeks but he’s churning out arguably the best season of his pro career right now. He is averaging 28.1 points on 57.9 percent shooting from the field, 8.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game.
LeBron James and the Cavs will get a full day of rest Monday before resuming action on Tuesday on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks. Let’s see if the three-time NBA champ could reel in another triple-double in that game.
