As most of his fans and followers know, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar small forward LeBron James has logged loads (and loads) of minutes over the course of his illustrious career in the NBA.
Through 74 games of this year’s campaign, The King, now playing his 14th season in the NBA, is averaging 26.4 points, 8.7 assists (career-high), 8.6 rebounds (career-high), and 1.2 steals while averaging a league-leading 37.8 minutes per game.
Adding fuel to the fire, James is averaging 43.2 minutes per game through Cleveland’s first five games in April. In Sunday’s 126-125 overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks, James surpassed the 40-minute threshold for the 23rd time this season. Last season, James recorded 40-plus minutes in 13 games.
According to Basketball Reference, James, now 32 years of age, would be the first player over 30 to lead the NBA in minutes per game since Allen Iverson did it in his 2007-08 season.
