Kyrie Irving, who had been dealing with a sprained right foot and left knee tendinitis, didn’t practice on Saturday. The Cavs decided to give him a couple extra days of rest ahead of their Eastern Conference Finals matchup against the Atlanta Hawks starting Wednesday night.

The good news? Irving was able to participate in most of Monday afternoon’s practice session and he apparently looked good, according to head coach David Blatt.

Kyrie Irving, who has averaged just 13.5 points on 39% from the field over the past four games, was feeling better Monday, and told reporters he expects to play in Game 1.

“He’s going through a lot of treatment,” Blatt said. “We’re monitoring and just hoping that he progresses.”
