During game seven of last season’s finals series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, Kyrie Irving drained a three-pointer with 53.1 seconds left in the game and gave the lead for good to the Cavs, and the championship.

In honor of his clutch play and to pay tribute to the greatness the 24-year-old has shown early on in his career, the City of Cleveland, together with Nike, decided to put up a banner of him at side of a building on East Fourth Street and Prospect, with the slogan “Take your shots…. I”ll take mine.”

It may not be as tall as the 10-story banner LeBron James has across Quicken Loans Arena, but Irving does not see at being appreciated less, per Jason Lloyd of Ohio.com:

“That’s fine. That’s completely fine.”

Irving played the best basketball of his career during last year’s playoffs when he averaged 25.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 36.9 minutes per game. He complimented James well and more than made up for missing the finals the previous season.

With a new banner in place. Irving looks to continue to contribute to his team and help them in their quest to defend their title and win another one in June.
