The Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves in 2-0 deficit through the first two games of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.
Many have begun to count out the Cavaliers’ chances of getting past the Warriors’ high-powered offense to earn a second straight NBA title. During ESPN’s First Take on Tuesday morning, Jalen Rose threw out the scenario that LeBron James could wind up playing for a team in Calfornia before he retires.
Although there isn’t much credence to this belief, it’s at least worth noting that James does have a home in Los Angeles, which grabbed headlines after the vandalism to the property last week. He has routinely spent parts of his offseason in Los Angeles training and working out that have provided him with a good sense of comfort within the city.
However, it’s hard to envision James going anywhere else in his NBA career. He has won championships away from the Cavaliers and with them guiding the team to their first title in franchise history last year.
It’s an entertaining possibility, but there doesn’t appear to be any solid reasoning behind a move to California at this point in time. He is the leading force on the top team in the Eastern Conference that looks to be the standard bearers for at least the foreseeable future.
