When it comes to legendary NBA ball-handlers, the name of Allen Iverson should quickly enter your mind. “The Answer,” as the 6’0″ guard is known, entered the league in 1996 as the number one overall selection out of Georgetown University. It wasn’t long before Iverson’s opponents fell victim to his ankle-breaking cross-overs and unbelievable shot-making capabilities.
Further bolstering his legendary status, Iverson was one of the first players to enter the NBA as a rookie with his own shoe: the Reebok Question.
Last week, the NBA’s defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers squared off against the Boston Celtics inside Quicken Loans Arena, resulting in a 124-118 victory for the home team. Iman Shumpert, Cavs defensive specialist, decided to pay homage to Iverson by wearing an all red version of his signature shoe.
The “Primal Red” colorway of Reebok’s “Question” shoe line was designed in collaboration with Shumpert’s wife, Teyana Taylor. According to Sole Collector, the shoe was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Iverson’s first signature sneaker.

Shumpert has been spotted wearing the red shoe this week as well, including last night against the New Orleans Pelicans. If nothing else, this is a great way for “Shump,” as he’s affectionately known, to honor two people who have had a profound impact on his life.
