As a result of their 137-116 win over the Golden State Warriors in last night’s Game 4 matchup of the NBA Finals, the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers have forced a Game 5 in Oakland.
There were several notable storylines from last night’s game, including the stellar performance of Kyrie Irving. In his 41 minutes of playing time, Uncle Drew racked up a game-high 40 points (15-of-27 field, 7-of-12 from beyond the arc), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal.
The Warriors simply had no answer for Irving. Time after time, the former Duke Blue Devil found a way to bank the ball in high off the glass. In fact, the crafty ball-handler made 11 of his first 14 shot attempts.
Former Cavaliers point guard Daniel “Boobie” Gibson took note of Irving’s spectacular Game 4 performance and decided to post this message to his Twitter account:
Will Irving and the Cavs be able to keep their momentum rolling? Only time will tell. Game 5 is scheduled to tip at 9:00 p.m. EST on Monday, with ABC having live coverage.
