LeBron James will reach a milestone this week when he scores the 30,000th point of his career. Only the greatest of the greats have ever accomplished the feat and his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates have predicted how the King will be taking his place among the few and the proud.

Fox Sports Ohio interviewed each of the James teammates, asking them to predict what type of shot will mark the four-time MVP’s entry into the exclusive club.

The team was asked to complete the sentence: “LeBron James will score his 30,000th point on a _____________.”

Most of the Cavs predict that James will reach the milestone on a dunk with some (Tristan Thompson, Channing Frye, and Jeff Green), suggesting that it will happen on a fastbreak. Derrick Rose, on the other hand, suggests it will be a drive-to-the-basket dunk.

Iman Shumpert and Jose Calderon believe it won’t be a dunk but something just as spectacular — a turnaround baseline, fadeaway jumper. Frye eventually gave in and agreed with the two, even saying that he’ll bet his money on it.

Love thinks the assist will come from him with James’ best friend, Dwyane Wade, saying that it will be an outlet pass on a fastbreak.

James has scored 29,959 points so far in his career. That’s the seventh-highest mark in NBA history. He needs just 41 points to reach the landmark achievement.

As to when it will happen, the most probable date is January 20 when the Cavaliers host the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the game against the Orlando Magic on Thursday, January 18, should be watched carefully as James could explode for 41 or more points in that game. If he gets hot early, look for LeBron to get to 30K earlier than expected.

Other players who have reached the 30,000-point milestone are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Kobe Bryant (33,643), Michael Jordan (32,292), Wilt Chamberlain (31,419), and Dirk Nowitzki (30,808 and counting).
