LeBron James did LeBron James again Thursday night, as he led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 115-112 win over the Chicago Bulls at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavs’ victory put an end to the overachieving Bulls’ seven-game win streak.
At one point, the Bulls’ nonsensical binge on success will have to get punctuated, and James made sure of that by pumping out 34 points. Two of those points came via a sweet turnaround, fadeaway baseline jumper while Bulls guard Kris Dunn was all over him.
That basket gave the Cavs a six-point lead late in the fourth quarter. It also gave the broadcast team a gold to show the game’s viewers, as the mic’d up James yelled “It don’t matter,” referring to the futile attempt of Dunn to defend him.
You know what? The Bulls’ defense didn’t matter to LeBron James all night long. The four-time MVP went 12-of-23 from the floor and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. He also added six rebounds, nine assists, and three steals in 39 minutes of basketball excellence.
Up ahead for James and Cavs is a tussle with the Golden State Warriors on Monday. If his Thursday’s performance was any indication, there’s no doubt that James is fully set for the Finals rematch.
