Despite his team’s recent four-game losing streak, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James still had time for a laugh after Friday morning’s shootaround in the nation’s capital.

The Cavs, who are now 3-5 and 4th in the Central Division, are slated to face off against the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

After Friday morning’s practice, James was asked about the Cavs’ current state. Until Wednesday night’s 124-107 home loss to the Indiana Pacers, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 Draft was reasonably cordial in his post-game interviews. After dropping a fourth straight game, however, the King was noticeably upset. James says he’s been “pretty good,” but dealing with what he referred to as his “three wives away from home” is a challenge at times, especially after a tough loss.

Who are these three mystery women in James’ life, you ask? Well, they aren’t really women at all. James was referring to three of the Cavs’ official beat writers: Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, and Joe Vardon of cleveland.com — three well-respected members of the media who know the team (and its players) well.

“I think the team has been OK,” James said with a raised eyebrow after Friday morning’s practice. “I wasn’t that great after the last game, but that was my immediate reaction from you guys coming into the locker room. Of course, Jason sees me all of the time. I’ve got like three wives, man… Jason, David, and this guy right here (laughter) — Joe. So I have three wives away from my wife. They know me, so whatever. They’re The Three Stooges of my household.”

Friday night’s game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. EST tip inside Capital One Arena. ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio will have live broadcast coverage. Let’s see if James and the Cavs can get back into the win column.
