LeBron James made one of his finest and fanciest passes of the season Sunday night versus the Detroit Pistons. The Cavs’ team leader delivered a no-look, between-the-legs pass to Kevin Love for a 3-pointer during the second quarter that made The Q go wild.
The moment came with four minutes to go in the quarter as James was running a fastbreak with Love trailing behind closely. Stopping just a foot under the 3-point stripe, James passed the ball to Love with both hands and between his legs. The Cavs’ 6-foot-10 power forward nailed the long distance shot to tie the game at 48-all.
The Cavs defeated the Pistons 121-104, playing much better defense down the stretch than in previous games. Winning back-to-back games for the first time since winning five straight in mid-December, James nearly collected a second straight triple-double as well. He finished the game with 25 points, 14 assists, and eight rebounds.
Back in Friday, the Cavs won for the first time this season against the Indiana Pacers as James led the way with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. This was his eighth triple-double of the season and it came at the right time with the Cavs reeling from a stretch in which they only won a single game in the past seven contests.
James is averaging 8.7 assists per game this season, matching his career-high from last year. He has the chance to increase his average should the Cavs play with more consistency in the next few months.
In addition, James is also scoring 26.8 points, his highest in four years, to go along with 7.9 rebounds per game.
