Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James has tagged Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving in an Instagram video of him singing the song “Rewind” by rapper Fetty Wap.
Why is this news you ask? Well, anything LeBron James does is noteworthy because he’s the most famous athlete in the world. But because this video involves Kyrie Irving, it’s bound to break the internet.
James and Irving, of course, were teammates for three seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The two superstars were an unstoppable duo and they won the 2016 championship over the Golden State Warriors. The two seemed destined to compete for championships for years to come in Cleveland.
Then, Kyrie Irving shocked the entire sports world in the summer of 2017 when he requested a trade from the Cavs. Uncle Drew reportedly didn’t want to play with LeBron James anymore and it is believed their relationship soured because of Irving’s trade request.
James signed with the Lakers last offseason and The King said Irving’s trade request was the beginning of the end of his second tenure with the Cavs.
After spending a year apart, though, are the two stars missing each other? Irving revealed to reporters last week that he called James to apologize for how he acted as a young player in Cleveland, and now James — seemingly out of nowhere — is posting a video with Irving tagged in it.
LeBron knows exactly what he’s doing here. He loves to stir the pot.
