Tristan Thompson drilled in the first 3-pointer of his career, and Kevin Love absolutely loved it.
The Cleveland Cavaliers center hoisted up a triple to beat the shot clock buzzer in the first quarter of their game against the Indiana Pacers and knocked it down, much to the delight of the All-Star forward.
Watch the highlight and the hilarious reaction from K-Love via SportsCenter:
Tristan Thompson has attempted nine treys through his first nine years in the league, and number 10 proved to be the lucky one in year 10 for the 28-year old.
For most of his career, Thompson has played close to the basket and has never really adapted to the trend of developing a jump shot. However, his first make from deep, by no means, isn’t an indication that he’ll start jacking up threes or even mid-rangers moving forward.
Kevin Love, on the other hand, has been a knock-down sniper from beyond the arc ever since he came into the league.
Thompson had a great season opener for the Cavs in their loss against the Orlando Magic on the road. He finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds and one block in 33 minutes.
The Cavs held off the Indiana Pacers late in the fourth quarter to notch their first win of the new season, 110-99.
Thompson notched another double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds. He added three blocks and of course, one 3-pointer to round out his spectacular evening. Love had an all-around performance of 21 points, 13 boards and nine assists.
This win and the performances from their two starting bigs are definitely encouraging for the Cavs, especially after a disastrous season opener against Orlando.
