In case you forgot that Jeff Green could fly, then let Jeff Green himself remind you that he still could.
Early in the fourth quarter of Friday night’s Game 3 of the series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Indiana Pacers, the Cavs swingman decided that he would force the issue inside. After faking Domantas Sabonis out of his shoes, Green courageously drove down the lane and stuffed one meaty dunk down the throat of Pacers big man Myles Turner. Yum!
It was not that long ago when Green would regularly put on a show like this, especially during his time as the focal point of the Boston Celtics’ offense. At 31, the former Georgetown Hoyas star may have lost some speed and hops, but apparently, his legs still have enough explosiveness in them to do nasty stuff like this.
Reduced to a mere role player in Cleveland, Green averaged just 10.8 points on 47.7 field goal shooting percentage, 1.3 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in 23.4 minutes across 78 games back in the regular season. He finished with six points on 2-for-6 shooting from the floor in 16 minutes of action.
Unfortunately for Green, he and the Cavs lost to Indiana in Game 3, 92-90.
The Cavaliers will look to bounce back this coming Sunday in Game 4 of this first-round series.
