For Cleveland Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas, he thinks that Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant is the best ever, which he recently stated during a sneaker shopping video from Complex. The Cavs’ star guard talked about how he loves Bryant’s shoes and also added that he wears them to pay tribute to the Lakers great.
It is understandable why he thinks highly of Bryant. He is a five-time NBA champion, a former MVP, a two-time Finals MVP, and an 18-time All-Star. He decided to hang his sneakers for good after the 2015-16 season, but not before scoring 60 points in his last game, putting the perfect exclamation point to what has been one of the most illustrious careers of any player in league history.
Even during his playing days with the Lakers, Bryant was already widely considered as one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball. He has won almost all awards the league has to offer, and will surely be a Hall of Famer once he becomes eligible.
While it is very difficult to contest the Cavs guard’s claim, as Bryant has proven his greatness throughout his professional career, it is also surprising that Thomas named him as the best ever — being a big fan of Michael Jordan and a teammate of another all-time great in LeBron James.
If there’s one thing about Thomas that is comparable to Bryant, it has to be the confidence or swag that the diminutive point guard exudes. Despite his size, Thomas is as bull-strong as anyone and he does not care about whoever’s guarding him. His killer instinct simply takes over.
