The Cleveland Cavaliers were eliminated from the playoffs after being swept by the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. With the offseason on the horizon, the front office must now find ways to improve the roster. One insider sparked rumors after suggesting the Cavs could be in the mix to acquire both LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

During the latest episode of “Sports Daily,” with Yahoo Sports, insider Tom Haberstroh sees a world where James returns to Cleveland next season with Antetokounmpo as his teammate. However, to get both superstars on the roster, it may mean the front office trades Evan Mobley away.

“I could see a scenario in which [the Cavs] call up the Milwaukee Bucks and say, ‘Hey, will Evan Mobley and a first-round pick do it to get Giannis Antetokounmpo?’ And then you turn around, and you say, ‘Lebron. You could come back home for a farewell tour, or try to win a championship in the Eastern Conference like you did before,'” explained Haberstroh…

“I do think that the Cavs could end this offseason with not just LeBron but Giannis Antetokounmpo in a trade for Evan Mobley.”

It sounds like a perfect situation for Cleveland. However, the franchise would likely have to get creative with the salary cap. Especially if the club retains Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, as Haberstroh suggests, in his scenario.

While it sounds great, the Bucks are going to have numerous suitors for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Additionally, LeBron James may not want to return to the Cavs at all. Whatever happens, the Cavs are likely to be one of the more aggressive teams this offseason after just missing out on the NBA Finals.
