The Cleveland Cavaliers have fallen short of the lofty goals set for them this season. Losing large leads, playing no effort on defense, and scrapping lousy offensive performances have been the norm for the Cavaliers. On MLK Day on Monday, the Cavaliers will get to have a rematch of their Christmas Day matchup with the Warriors, who won the prior game 99-92. Head coach Tyronn Lue had some inspiring first words once the Cavaliers arrived in Cleveland after a lengthy road trip, according to ClutchPoints’ Nikki Goel.

It is true that the Cavaliers are back in Cleveland for a home-stretch, but their struggles don’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Positively, a home game for the Cavaliers could be what they need as they battle the Warriors and other teams from the comforts of their own arena. Lue recently criticized the Cavaliers for their “agendas” after an embarrassing loss to the Pacers, per Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com.

“I never really get concerned,” Lue said (this is the full quote). “We’ve got to be better. We know that. But until we play better defensively, I think offensively sharing the basketball, everyone on the same page, and if guys have agendas, we’ve got to get rid of our agendas and play the right way.”

This quote created a rift between LeBron James and the Cavaliers players, who were noticeable confused with their coach’s comments. Although the Cavaliers’ struggle won’t end instantly, Lue’s comments show some clear promise. Maybe at home, the Cavaliers will finally start to click, even against the defending NBA champions on Monday.
