The Cleveland Cavaliers just lost to the Golden State Warriors last Monday.
Even if the Cavaliers have the best player in the world in LeBron James, the loss can still be spiritually crushing. After all, they’ve just been swept in their regular season games with their so-called Finals rival.
If there should be anyone who should console the team, it’s the head coach, and Tyronn Lue doesn’t disappoint.
Lue has decided to focus on the good things.
Tyronn Lue may not be as direct in saying that the Cavaliers should look at the bright side of things. But studying film and looking at the good things the team has done so far is a good start in forming a positive mindset in the locker room.
It’s also a good way to see the bad things the team has done, not to criticize, but to force the team to improve.
Lue continues to show his good leadership skills, per Nikki Goel of ClutchPoints.
But when all is said and done, will this work for the Cavaliers?
The Warriors are dominating the entire league. They currently sit on top of the Western Conference standings with their 36-9 record.
Some are not even sure anymore of the Cavaliers making a return trip to the NBA Finals to face their nemesis from the Bay Area.
The Boston Celtics have the 1st seed with a 34-11 record. This is despite not having Gordon Hayward on the floor. The Toronto Raptors have the 2nd seed with a 29-13 record. DeMar DeRozan is playing like an MVP candidate.
The Cavaliers aren’t even sitting well in the 3rd seed. Goran Dragic and the red-hot Miami Heat are only one game behind of the defending Eastern Conference champions as of this writing.
What Lue is doing for the Cavaliers is a good start. It may be the very thing the Cavaliers need to put them back on top of the East.
