After the Cleveland Cavaliers got drubbed in Game 1 by the Indiana Pacers it was clear that things had to change if they wanted to win the series.
For Tyronn Lue he thinks the changes start with LeBron James’ aggressiveness.
“He has to be aggressive and set the tone early,” Lue told Dave McMenamin of ESPN. “We talked about that today … being aggressive early, setting the tone, especially for these new guys, bringing these guys along. He understood that, but once again, he’s always a guy trying to get his teammates off early, get them guys going, then try to feel the game out. But be ready to set a tone.”
James is usually a very aggressive player but on Sunday he didn’t seem to be trying to push the offense. He explained though that he was just trying to take what the defense gave him.
“That’s just how the game was being played,” James said. “Guys had great looks and they just didn’t go down…I was assisting and guys just couldn’t make shots to start the game, so it was just how the game was going on.”
He was really trying to get everyone involved early and with the shots not going down the Cavaliers really struggled. In Game 2 he is going to need to be more aggressive early, especially trying to score the ball.
The Cavaliers are going to need him to be on his best game and probably to hit at least 30 points. If he isn’t aggressive and isn’t scoring the Cavaliers are going to have a really tough time in this one.
