The Cleveland Cavaliers are 26-17 on the season, which is good enough to take the third seed in the East. Despite the Cavaliers’ good record, NBA fans feel like there is something missing with the team. To put it frankly, everybody thinks that the team is not good enough to beat the Golden State Warriors, the most likely candidate they will face if they make the Finals.

There are a lot of trade rumors circling around, rumors that can help the Cavaliers improve their roster. But head coach Tyronn Lue has something to say about those rumors:

Lue is also liking what he is seeing with his guys lately.

But Lue shouldn’t disregard potential trades as well. Let’s remember the trades that actually sent the Cavaliers to different heights since LeBron has gone back to The Land.

In James’ first season back in Cleveland, the Cavaliers acquired J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Timofey Mozgov. In his second season, the team acquired Channing Frye. And in his third season, the team acquired Kyle Korver. All these trades had significant impacts on how the Cavaliers played.

This season, it may be hard to find a trade that will magically make everything okay for the Cavaliers. After all, the Warriors just look so far ahead at this point.

The Warriors just swept the Cavaliers in their regular season meetings.

Indeed Lue wants to improve his chances of beating the Warriors if they make the Finals at all considering the rising teams in the East. Whether he wants to do it by improving the team from the inside or bolstering the team with an addition is up to him and the others who are in position. But this doesn’t change the fact that the Warriors will be a difficult beast to tame.
