Cavs center Tristan Thompson will be held out of Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Celtics due to ongoing foot soreness, according to a report from Chris Fedor of cleveland.com.

This marks Thompson’s fourth consecutive game on the sidelines with the ailment. In those games, Cavs head coach Larry Drew has called on Ante Zizic to start at the five. Fans of the team should expect more of the same in Wednesday’s matchup.

Though he’s been in and out of the lineup this season, Thompson has managed to post some of the best statistical figures of his career. In his 35 appearances with the Cavs (all starts), the Canadian-born big man has racked up averages of 11.5 points on 52.6 percent shooting from the field, 11.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and just under one steal (0.8) in 29.8 minutes per outing.

In other Cavs-related injury news, Kevin Love remains out with a big toe injury. However, there is some belief that the former UCLA star may be able to make his return sometime in February. David Nwaba is still dealing with an ankle injury, but he too is nearing a return. Larry Nance Jr. is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a sprained right MCL.

Wednesday night’s Cavs-Celtics game is scheduled to tip inside TD Garden at — with FOX Sports Ohio having live broadcast coverage.
