The Cleveland Cavaliers have been occasionally wearing matching suits to games in these playoffs. While it looks sleek on them, their performance on the court has not been as shiny. In fact, according to ESPN, the Cavs have lost three of their four games and own a negative point differential in games in which they wore gray suits prior to a game.

We have heard stories of fans burning players’ jerseys but now appears to be a good time to see NBA players take their turn in setting textiles on fire. That’s after the Cavs lost to the Boston Celtics Sunday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, 108-83 – the same game they went to TD Garden donning their gray suits.

In the game, the Cavs’ offense was in a bad funk and their defense was nowhere to be found. Cleveland shot 36.0 percent from the field and 15.4 percent from behind the arc. LeBron James had a rare off-night, as he went 5-for-16 from the field and 0-for-5 from deep with seven of his team’s nine turnovers.

As for the Celtics, they made over 51 percent of their field goal attempts and scored 22 more points in the paint than Cleveland did.

The Cavs will look to tie the series up at 1-1 this Tuesday in Boston, where they are 8-2 in their last 10 games there dating back to 2015.
