The Cleveland Cavaliers are on the brink of sweeping the Toronto Raptors for the second-straight time as they hold a 3-0 series advantage over the top-seeded East team. The team is coming off a virtuoso performance from LeBron James, which got the attention of former Cavs teammate Richard Jefferson, saying that the former’s game-winner would be the same shot James would use to beat the latter in a game of H-O-R-S-E.
Speaking of Jefferson, the man who’s popularly known as “R.J.” dropped by the Cavs’ practice as they prepare for the potential series-clinching Game 4.
ClutchPoints’ Nikki Goel caught a glimpse of Jefferson having some chat with James and head coach Tyronn Lue:
While Jefferson was already a shadow of his old self when he arrived in Cleveland, he has endeared himself to many of the team’s fans with his eloquent and savvy veteran presence, his sense of humor that saw countless of Instagram moments with another ex-Cavalier in Channing Frye, his part in the creation of Lil Kev, and his contributions to the team’s championship in 2016 when he stepped up big on defense to change the series’ tide.
However, he was released by the team as a necessary move to accommodate the abundance of new players the Cavs added in the offseason. He ended the season as a member of the Denver Nuggets.
Jefferson will forever be a champion and he’ll always have a place in Cleveland.
